i read this short story in the first year of junior high school. i never liked the matriarch mathilde. her good looks fell into a poor family, she thought the heaven was unfair, but i think she has a loving husband is her greatest asset. she pursues luxury, the feeling of being loved by thousands of people, the pursuit of all material comforts. i think she does not know how to cherish. she only complains to her husband and ignores his pressure and feelings. therefore, i do not have any favorable impression on her.
finally, that "priceless" necklace is lost! at this time my feelings were mixed. i thought it was retribution for her, but on the other hand, i was worried about how the poor family would compensate for the staggering amount.
of course, my opinion has changed since then. mathilde was vain and proud, but it was her nature to love beauty. ten years of debt life, the passage of time slowly smoothed her impetuous heart, she lost beautiful face, lost everything. at that time, although she was plain and did not have any luster, i thought she was very responsible. she faced bravely what she had done wrong, took responsibility to the end and tried to make up for it instead of complaining about everything. this is the responsible she, perhaps more "radiant" it!
as a short story by maupassant, the ending is of course very dramatic. although i have complained for the matriarch, but more is to thank this incident, let her understand that youth, looks are not capital. your attitude towards life and your heart are worth more than any "priceless" necklace!
i've just fininshed reading the first 4 harry potter books for about the5th time through, and they're just as magical and affecting as they have everbeen. everything is in here: suspense, adventure, mystery, humour, danger.there's even some pretty satisfying paybacks. the characters are fantastic andfantastically realistic. there are bad people who turn out to be good guys andgood people who turn out to be bad guys, just like life.
i think the thing i like best about these books is the message that it'sokay to be different - to be not "normal." i would love for everyone in schoolto have hear that message. it would probably reduce the bullying around theschool.
these books value real thoughts. much has been made of harry's rulebreaking, but only once in the series so far does he break a rule for arbitrarypersonal gain. most of the time he makes a decision that what's right is moreimportant than what's written. and you know what? life's like that sometimes. ithink it's great that kids are getting an example of how to do what's right evenwhen it involves breaking rules. the potter books also show that there areconsequences for rule breaking. if not getting caught and getting a detention, then a spell going wrong and someone getting turned into a cat. this shows thatwhen you make a decision to go against the rules that things may not go as youexpected and you have to take responsibility for the outcome.
"what do you want to tell me about this? she has nothing to do with me. do you think i'm poor and unpleasant and i have no feelings? i will, and we are the same spirit! as you followed me through the grave, you will stand in front of god. this is the book of jane eyre, which affects the whole of britain, and it is the whole of britain that recognizes the equality of men and women.
i like the author of jane eyre, the author of the book, charlotte bronte. this book is like magic, and the people who read this book have changed their minds.
i like jane eyre. this book shows that the foreigner is very straightforward, but it is very delicate, though it is small.
i love "jane eyre", this book let me know a lot of truth, such as vain, great minds can not be fathomed.
not knowing how to turn on the understanding of the little prince, too much rational analysis is not my expectation.
little contact with new people and objects in the travel, such as the pursuit of authority but do not lose wise king, such as to avoid drunken disgrace and the alcoholic drink, such as possession of the stars and think serious businessman, such as refusing to travel geologist lamps and busy people. but the little prince was sick of their life, and he felt only the strange and unreasonable of the lord all the way.
the little prince finally found himself unable to go back. he lingered on the earth where he came, and missed his flowers. in the days that cant go back, the little prince will be looking at the stars themselves, he said: "if you fall in love with a flower that grows on a star at night, you is sweet to look at. all the stars seem to be open with flowers. sadness vulnerable the pain which is unable to bear to miss the little prince, he would eagerly go back, in the end, he chose to snake venom end self life, although he is afraid of the pain, but he thinks that i can leave bulky body to go back to myself. at last the little prince fell down like a tree, and there was no sound in the soft sand.

how can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? the reason is the nature of goodness. i think it is the most important information implied in the novel by dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. although i don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet i do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.
for me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. goodness is to humans what water is to fish. he who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. on the contrary, as the famous saying goes, the fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. people receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.
to my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. they look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. as a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. on the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. in their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. if they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. they are one of the sorts that i really detest.
francis bacon said in his essay, ‘goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’
